Best Wiper Blade on the Market, Without a Doubt

I'm 41 years old. I have been driving for 25 years, and have always prided myself on proper vehicle maintenance. I change my own oil, rotate my own tires, fix my own flats, etc. I have always been a fan of wiper blade refills, since they are inexpensive, and by replacing just the refill, I don't have to trash my entire blade. It's sort of like using a razor with replaceable blades instead of using a dispsosapble razor. However, I just bought my wife a new (used) car after she had been in her first accident. We have 4 year old girl, and everything I buy for my wife's vehicle is going to be the best I can afford (whether I can afford it or not). I found a "by one get one free" deal on these blades (22") at O'Reilly, and picked up a pair. Total price was $19.99 plus tax. I put them on her car, and after trying them out, I went back and paid $15.99 for a pair for my Tacoma, which takes 17" blades. I have never experienced such excitement over such an inexpensive part replacement before. These blades are different than any I have used before. The make ZERO sound against the windshield, and they remove 100% of the water with each swipe. I think insurance companies should endorse these blades, or even offer a discount on insurance coverage for using them. I have never written such a favorable review for any product before, and I have been on Amazon as long as they have been around. I promise you, if you buy these, you will not be sorry. If you are, drop me a message, because I'd like to know what kind of mental condition you suffer from : -) Perhaps there is a better blade in existence somewhere, but I will never know, as I will never purchase any other type than these again.

Quiet, clean and long-lasting

I bought Anco Contours for my ES330 a little over a year ago at the suggestion of someone at a local parts store. He was right -- they work well in rain and snow, are very quiet, and are still going strong after over a year. (Yes, I've read the recommendations to change blades after 6 months, certainly after a year, but I haven't see any degradation and am not going to change them until I do.) A few weeks ago, a storm was coming and I wanted to replace the OEM wipers on my 2008 Prius with a beam-blade pair, since the Contours have been so great. Unfortunately, the nearby auto parts store didn't carry the Contours, and I didn't have time to order them, so I bought Trico Neoforms instead, hoping they'd be as good. They weren't; during my drive to NY from Boston during the storm, the driver's side cleared well, but the passenger's side left a huge swath of mush. There was also a pronounced squeak most of the time, which was especially annoying at lower speeds when the road noise didn't mask it. I found myself turning the intermittent wiping off and using the wipers only when enough precip had built up on the windshield to make it necessary -- then a quick wipe and off again. It was so annoying that when I got to NY, I immediately looked for a store that carried the Contours. Fortunately, I found one and bought them the very next day. What a difference! Just as with my ES, they make no noise and clean beautifully. Next time I'll plan ahead and save myself from throwing out $40.

These are horrible wipers. I don't usually give in to the latest craze, but seeing this style utilized on the newer VW, Mercedes and Jaguars I decided it must be an improvement. I found these not to work well in any scenario. The curve is not solid enough to make complete contact with the windscreen and gets worse over 50 Mph. At freeway speeds, their useless. The usable range at a stop light is 2" shy of each tip of the wipers increasing to 4-5" at freeway speeds. They also lift off the windscreen at speed and leave huge areas un-wiped. Huge safety issue. Not having a support system at the ends means no matter how strong of a arm spring you use makes no difference at the tips. They also cost twice as much as the "tried & trued" conventional blades. Yes, the conventional style isn't perfect, even a pain in ice/snow, but can be remedied with long known techniques. You will make a big mistake giving in to these. Definitely not worth the extra money.

These are the best wipers I have ever had. I will only buy these from now on. They grip the windshild and stand up to ice and snow as well as any wiper I have tried. They last for about 6 months, so I usually get a set in the fall and in the spring.

This blade works as advertised. It works great as a regular rain blade and is comparable in performance to the heavy, booted winter blade that I have used in prior winters. After about 45 years of upstate NY and NH winters, I've found that a good defroster and winshield washer fluid rated -30 or better is important no matter what wiper you are using. I now have these on four family cars; all of us are pleased with this product.

These are horrible wipers. I don't usually give in to the latest craze, but seeing this style utilized on the newer VW, Mercedes and Jaguars I decided it must be an improvement. I found these not to work well in any scenario. The curve is not solid enough to make complete contact with the windscreen and gets worse over 50 Mph. At freeway speeds, their useless. The usable range at a stop light is 2" shy of each tip of the wipers increasing to 4-5" at freeway speeds. They also lift off the windscreen at speed and leave huge areas un-wiped. Huge safety issue. Not having a support system at the ends means no matter how strong of a arm spring you use makes no difference at the tips. They also cost twice as much as the "tried & trued" conventional blades. Yes, the conventional style isn't perfect, even a pain in ice/snow, but can be remedied with long known techniques. You will make a big mistake giving in to these. Definitely not worth the extra money.

Pros: None Cons: Price - too high performance - they don't work going faster than 30MPH performance - snow buildup is terrible, ice sticks to them badly quality - they fell apart Comments: These are, without question, the worst wiper blades I've ever purchased in my life, and quite possibly one of the worst products of any kind I've ever had the misfortune of buying or using. The marketing part is the draw and the person responsible for the marketing should be commended...because they're suckering in many. These are priced at about 300% of a normal wiper blade and double the cost of a winter blade. I will say that it works quite well as you sit in a rainy parking lot, or at a stop light, or in your driveway. As soon as you get going over 30 MPH then they stink. The contour itself seems to be the design flaw. The bend is greater than most windshields and that means the tips are pressing against the windshield harder than the center. This allows the wind to lift the center of the blade and water gets underneath so the wiper can't clear the water as you're driving. Terrible. During snow these wipers collect more snow for some reason than a standard blade ever did, and the ice sticks to the rubber wiping element badly. The quality is in the tank. The end caps came off both wipers and that has allowed the rubber wiping element to slid out making the wipers even more useless. Now they must be replaced. Do yourself a favor and don't buy these. Stick with the regular basic cheap wiper, or get a classic winter blade wrapped in the rubber boot...those work the best. Steer clear of these.

Amazon's supplier will have you believe this is the correct size for a rear window wiper. In my case, for an '06 Dodge Magnum. Not even close. The two-plus inches over OE takes the blade over the rear windshield and onto the hatch.

I purchased the Anco 3111 because other auto websites said this was a replacement for the rear wiper blade of a 2002 Jeep Liberty. Guess they were wrong!! It has the wrong clip and would never work correctly. I should have went by the Amazon site which said it DOES NOT fit my vehicle. Guess I'll try another blade!

I bought this product back in early 2009 based on Consumer Reports' review. I drive a Honda Civic in Colorado and I was, overall, extremely disappointed. From the first precipitation fall, the blades smeared water and dirt rather than cleared it. Regardless if I used windshield fluid, cleaned my wipers with a wet paper towel, etc, nothing seemed to help. Months later during an oil change, I asked the technician to see if my wipers wore down fast or looked defective and he said that they still looked new! This left me to assume that these wipers were just really poorly made. I would not recommend. I recently spent the money for the RainX Latitudes and I have been very satisfied.

I ordered the Anco Aerovantage 12 inch wiper blade and I received it the next day I was impressed with how quickly they processed and shipped the item There was a problem though The item came in a large yellow envelope When I took the item out of the envelope the package of the item itself was torn open I examined it and the blade itself was dirty filled with black dirt I called Amazon customer service and they will be sending a replacement to me while I will be returning this item back I can t comment if this item is good or not until they send me the replacement

About 2 months ago I had regular wipers fall apart while on short trip so I stopped and got a set of these As a regular rain wiper they were excellent but I wasn t sure how they would perform as a winter wiper The bulk of reviews were positive for winter use and a few others said they weren t so great Since then we ve had a pretty early and ugly upstate NY winter with some bad ice storms and plenty of snow Now I can say that they work very well in those conditions too so well that I bought sets for the other three cars in the family I ve always used the big clunky full rubber booted blades and as near as I can tell these are comparable In bad storms the full booted ones can freeze up too I ve had it happen This will be my 45th year of driving in northern winters including 10 in NH and 30 in upstate NY I believe that if you have a good defroster and 30 or stronger washer fluid you ll be in good shape with these blades

I have owned a set of these for my 98 Toyota Tacoma Truck 17 blades for over 6 months I am very pleased with them No grooves yet that cause streak lines and no sound against the windshield I have tried the Bosh and not more than a month grooves appeared in them that caused streak lines I bought some Silblades for my 94 Toyota Corrolla and they haven t streaked after 3 months but they leave a filmy residue on the entire shield after each stroke movement that lasts for several seconds If on fast the film never has time to go away This is mildly irritating during the day but at night with the lights of oncoming traffic it is downright stressful and dangerous The Anco Contour leaves virtually no film even after these several months and even does a decent job with rode grim film though generally need good fluid for that in any case I am about to buy another pair of Anco Contour to replace the Silblades that are on my 94 Toyota Corrolla wagon So far it is the best one I have found and the price for me is worth it I live in western WA so snow is rare but the few times I have encountered it in the truck the Anco Contour performed very well

Not necessarily a flaw with the product more a problem with the Amazon screening of products that fit your vehicle Have a 2005 Honda Accord should fit according to Amazon but it doesn t On the driver side attachment arm are two metal guides The metal of the wiper blade is too wide and gets stuck on the those guide pieces preventing the wiper blade from bending to conform to the entire windshield

I have the same problem installing the driver side wiper on my 2007 Accord as the previous reviewer As cq08 said the issue is with the guide located on the car s attachment arm not on Anco s wiper blade The guide is used to stabilize the wiper blade and make sure it doesn t wobble when it s in use Attaching the wiper itself to the car s attachment arm works fine The guide on the attachment arm is too narrow for the anco wiper to fit which results in only three quarters of the wiper resting on the windshield One solution would be to file the guide down so that the blade would fit but I think I d rather just stick with a new OEM blade from Honda

For 25 years I have used these blades on both my cars and trucks in New England s harsh winters and they have been great There is an reviewer on this page that didn t like the blade first I would ask why someone who lives in Florida would be using a winter blade For me they are perfect and I m on this site looking for 2 more sets

It s worth it to me to write a positive review of Anco Winter wiper blades because I ve used them for years and they ve never disappointed me I live in the Upper Connecticut River Valley region of New Hampshire where in winter it s pretty normal to have freezing rain When this is happening and you re on the road with open wiper blades the freezing rain builds up inside the framework of the wiper and causes the blade to be less effective even dangerously so because parts of the blade fail to touch the windshield as they pass over it Instead of a clear windshield your open wiper gives you smears and streaks to the extreme sometimes This same negative effect can happen merely under snowy conditions as well What Anco Winter wipers have that s so different is a rubber housing that covers the framework of the wiper and prevents most if not all of the icy buildup from taking place I always look for Anco Winter blades whenever I need to replace windshield wipers but so often they are sold out in stores In fact lately I haven t been finding them in stores at all by this I mean large discount chain stores like Target Kmart or Walmart That s why I looked for them on Amazon where I not only positively found them but was able to get a very good price

I was thinking about getting one of those more expensive uni blade wipers Bosh Icon etc but then I checked Consumer Reports and these basic Ancos are rated just as good and for less money So far they wipe like a champ
